OVERVIEW
Full renovation of Canopus Studios one of Alexandria’s most iconic fitness and dance institutions, founded in 1952. Across 500 m² and completed in just 2 months, ACME Construction & Design transformed every space while preserving the building’s classic
arched character.
Scope of Work
Flooring Works
- Marble floor renovation repair, polishing and restoration of existing marble flooring in dining and common areas arched character.
- Wooden floor renovation sanding, refinishing and installation of new hardwood floors in ballet and dance studios
- Dark rubber/sports flooring installation in combat and boxing studio for safety and performance
- Floor leveling and preparation works across all zones prior to final finishes
HVAC Full System
- Complete HVAC system installation across all 500 m² of studio spaces
- High-capacity split and multi-split units for dance and fitness areas
- Ventilation and fresh air circulation systems critical for high-activity workout environments
- Concealed ducting and grille installation for clean aesthetic finish
- Zoned climate control for each studio type (dance, combat, dining)
Painting & Wall Finishes
- Full interior painting all walls, ceilings and architectural details
- High-quality washable paint selected for high-traffic fitness environments
- Classic arched wall and ceiling features highlighted and restored key architectural character preserved
- Decorative feature wall treatment in dining and reception area
Studio Fit-Out
- Ballet barre rail installation full-length wall-mounted and freestanding barres in dance studio
- Full-wall mirror installation in ballet/dance studio for performance training
- Full-wall mirror installation in combat/boxing studio
- Punching bag mounting infrastructure ceiling and wall anchor systems
- Black powder-coated metal frame and railing details throughout combat studio
Architectural & General Finishing
- Classic arched doorway and window restoration maintaining historic character of the 1952 building
